What's new?
Thank you for visiting this new website & blog. We're just finishing off the final bits of development so please excuse the mess while we tweak a few things
Killer Whales [From The Archive]
Taken back in 2004, on one of the most exciting photography days I can remember, this picture captures some of the greyness, cold and wetness of Arctic Norway in November. I hope it also conveys some of the majesty, power and downright awesomeness (and I use that term deliberately) of a pair of Killer Whales as they swam alongside our tiny rubber boat.

Orca Crossing - Tsyfjord, Norway |
Shot on Provia 400 transparency film pushed to ISO 800 with a Canon EOS3 and a 70-200 lens. There wasn't a lot of colour in the original exposure, just a touch of blue in the sky and water, so I did a B&W conversion in Lightroom. It's rather grainy but I like the result.
